Started this painting 'en plein air', during an art market last year. Finally got around to putting the finishing touches on it. I like the flat, abstract planes and surreal, electric-blue shadows.

This one is something of a throwback to an earlier painting series of mine---my Civilization series---featuring bright colors, bold lines, and a particular primitive painting style that I quite like. Perhaps I'll do more of these in the future....especially if this video gets some love (thumbs up and comment, please?).

The original "Vaughen's Lounge" (still available here) was painted on a large 36x48" canvas and featured a loose, playful style which I wanted to recapture in a smaller size. This one came together quickly and I like how it turned out.
